California College of the Arts (CCA) partnered with the Architectural Association (AA) in London hosted the first AA North American summer school in July 2010. The 10-day intensive program was called BIODYNAMIC STRUCTURES and it focused on extracting design principles from natural systems as well as designing and building interactive prototypes.
As a group we decided to take a studio space at the CCA and make an interactive skylight that would improve the interior living conditions. This skylights was scripted and made of scales that move according to light sensors.
The mock up was made of actuators and light sensors that responded and fed real time.
